About the game

Short description

Draw a contract with your mouse — a glowing line. Skeletal contractors form ranks along it to stop Hell's inspectors from reaching the Soul Cauldron. Tower defense, action and roguelite progression in one free game.

Learn more

A necromancer starts a business and hires skeletal contractors. Draw a line with the mouse and fighters take their places along it. When it expires or is released manually, contractors charge, guards move the front, and clerks fire a rolling barrage from their posts. Pulling sets the order's direction and guard/clerk reach. Circles, squares and triangles have different tactical effects.

Inspectors, Couriers, Notaries, Ghosts, Lawyers and the Foreman of Hell march on the Cauldron in waves. Between waves, build Crew Huts, Gatehouses and Accounting offices. In battle, cast chain lightning, raise the dead and trigger Crunch Time. The campaign has eight handmade maps. Endless Contract is a run through generated maps with contract amendments and artifacts. Daily Challenge gives everyone the same map. Skirmish pits you against a bot or a friend online.

Necromancer for Hire is made by solo developer Igor Gubanov. It's free for Windows, macOS and Linux, fully localized in Russian and English, including voices and cutscenes. Source code is available for noncommercial use.
